This is my 20th year teaching Social Studies at Tech. I am particularly looking forward to another year of advising

Progressive Student Awareness, a club that addresses issues of social justice. PSA has existed for about 18 years

and has become something of an institution here at Tech. Every week the club discusses a particular issue that
members may feel they need a better grasp on or want to discuss with other students. Some of these are issues
raised in a weekly collection of articles I compile to help them understand the debates underlying the news. We have
held numerous events with a number of guest speakers at Tech every year. These are open to the whole school and

we draw 50-75 students to these events. The students also, on their own, arrange to attend events outside the school.

Our members have appeared on the radio as well and have been speakers on stage at rallies - I was specifically asked
to provide kids from PSA and am particularly proud of that. Finally the students maintain a PSA Facebook page with over
200 members to further discuss and organize around these issues
