It can take a few days after signing up before you start receiving notifications.

The notification may arrive a bit late. Some parents report the notifications arrive 30 minutes or more after the student swipes in. So the arrival time of the notification message doesn't necessarily correspond to the student's arrival time at school. But the message states whether the student was on time for their first class, and seems to be accurate.

There is a typo in the notification message: "[Student's name] scanned into school today on time first [for] their first class."

The service is provided by an external provider, not school.
If you want a full tracking device for your kid, then there are iPhone and Android apps that are more advanced and accurate.
