Honoring All Who Served

Brooklyn Technical High School has a long and proud history of veteran service.

Here are some notable BTHS alumni who have served in the military:

Saverio "Sonny" Morea - Aerospace engineer, former NASA employee, and flight instructor. He managed the development of the Rocketdyne F-1 and Rocketdyne J-2 for the Apollo program Saturn V rocket, as well as the Lunar Roving Vehicle.
John P. Schaefer - President Emeritus of the University of Arizona. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
Jerome H. Lemelson - Inventor and entrepreneur. He was awarded over 600 patents during his lifetime, and he is considered to be one of the most prolific inventors in American history. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
David Sarnoff - Pioneer in the field of radio and television. He served as president and CEO of RCA for many years, and he is considered to be one of the most important figures in the early history of broadcasting. He served in the US Navy during World War I.
Norman R. Augustine - Aerospace engineer and businessman. He served as CEO of Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin, and he was chairman of the National Research Council. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

BTHS is proud of its long history of veteran service, and the school is committed to honoring the service and sacrifice of its veterans.
