Jean Brutus, P.E.

It has been my pleasure to work with students at Brooklyn Technical High School for about 9 years, after working
in the finance industry.  I am known amongst the student body as the "hard phys ed teacher." I take great pride in
not only teaching, but also motivating my students to be their best through physical challenges.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to be the coach of Tech's first wrestling program.  During my tenure as the
wrestling coach, I established the program as a dominant one in New York City, culminating in our first wrestling
championship. I also spearheaded the establishment of the Tech Wrestling Parents Club, and worked diligently
towards the building of the wrestling room.

Since 2008 I've also organized the Mr. And Ms. Tech Bodybuilding and Fitness competition, co-hosting alongside Mr. Williams and Mr. McNeil. The competition is one of the biggest annual events at Tech, raising tens of thousands of dollars over the years. The proceeds of this event since have financially

supported the wrestling team, the cheerleading team, and the boys' and girls' stepping teams.  In May 2014 I established Bodybuilding and Fitness Club to train student athletes year round to compete in the competition.

Away from Tech I am still a student, and enjoy spending what we call "family fun time" with my wife and 4-year-old son. I look forward to what the future at Brooklyn Tech has in store for me.
